My maternal grandmother was Rosella Finan from Cumberland, Maryland. Her mother was a Coleman. My understanding is that the Finan’s were indentured servants in the Cumberland area. Does that connect with the histories of any of you out there? Eileen Mathy

I’m Michael Francis Finan and I grew up in Cumberland. Rosella’s married name was the Dougherty. She raised a large family on Lincoln St. 2 boys and 4 girls. Two of the girls Angela and Irene became nuns with the School Sisters of Norte Dame in Baltimore. Dorothy was a RN in the Washington area. Are you related to Dorothy. One of the boys worked for EXXON in Iowa and the other Tom lived and worked in Cumberland, I believe for the newspaper: Times/News
